Clogged Dirty Water Tank

Sailors are divided into two parts: the dirty water tank is blocked and the ones that will clog up. The thought of it is a nightmare for all of us. The good news is that most blockages can be opened in simple and very hygienic ways.

In any case, there is no single method. Both the exit design of the dirty water tank and the cause of the blockage may make it necessary to try different methods.

Pressurization

It is a method that is used frequently by the technical teams of charter companies in particular. Logic is simple; we presse the dirty water tank with its valve closed. As soon as we open the valve, we hope to get rid of the blockage.

You don't need an essential apparatus for pressurization. The toilet's own pump is enough. The only problem is the airconditioning output. You've got to shut it down somehow. (There are those who do the pressurization with a compressor or a diving tube, so beware!)

Here's the problem. the pressurized system will explode from its weakest point. If the weak spot is the normal exit from the dirt, everything's fine. But what if there's a weaker point? A weakened hose, a handcuff that doesn't hold… Disaster doesn't stop at writing scenarios. The pressure you will force the system should be directly proportional to your confidence in your installation. Or don't hold our writers responsible for your mother-in-law's robe!

If the hose distance between the tank and the exit point is not too great and there are no elbows, the blockage can be opened with a simple guide.

Pressure from exit

A sudden wave of pressure from the sea outlet of the dirty water tank can cause the movement of the debris causing the blockage and the opening of the road. There are those who do this pressurization with the bot pump, sink pump and even (again!) diving tube. The liter pet bottles are also practical. You fill up with water, put your mouth on the exit, and you press it. You can even feel the line open.

So how do we protect ourselves in the water? It performs its confident operation with a pallet and quickly moves away as soon as the system opens. The alternative is to connect the nose of the boat with a seat belt and adjust the length of the rope to remain right in front of the exit. If the operation is carried out when the boat is idle, you will always watch the parade from above from the seat of honor.

TIKANI AIRBORNE

Although not as frequent as the discharge exit, the tank's ventilation output may also be blocked.

There should be a ventilation outlet that goes over the tanks and attaches to a small hole in the board. The objectives of this line, which is found not only in wastewater tanks but also in most fresh water and diesel tanks, are:

– Evacuation of air in the tank while filling the tank, not swelling of the tank.
– Not vacuuming when emptying the tank.
– To have a place to overflow if the tank is overloaded.

The problem with the wastewater tank begins when performing this third function. If you continue to use the tank even though it is full, excess waste is thrown out of here. (If your boat is at this exit level, it's a disaster.) The waste left in the pipe and outlet is drying out, causing congestion.

If you pump new liquids into a fully enclosed tank, you increase the pressure. If you're lucky, this pressure will open the clogged ventilation hole. But if the congestion is serious, the pressure inside the tank continues to increase and it looks for a weak spot.

If the rubber parts inside the toilet pump act as a check valve are a little old, they may back-fire into the toilet bowl. If these are intact, the hose connections can start leaking from places like the tank's cleaning valves. (At this stage, if the location allows, turning the tank evacuation valve on and off too little will relieve the excess pressure and the problem.)

WARNING: Never open the evacuation door on the deck if you feel the tank is pressurized! Never!

The vacuum that occurs when the tank is empty usually allows the line to open. by opening the discharge valve on the open sea or using a pump in reception facilities. Feeding water from the outside to the exit mouth with a hose makes it easier to open first and ensures that the line is completely cleaned.

If this doesn't work, there's no choice but to remove the hose and clean it with a hair.
