Balloon Sail

Balloon sailing is a hexagonal way opened by sailing boats in sailing course, taking the wind from the stern of the boat and resembling a bag. Its purpose is to capture more winds by expanding the wind-hit surface and as a result to move the boat faster. There are two main types of balloons in terms of their structure. The symmetrical one in terms of structure is called a symmetrical balloon (spinnaker) and the asymmetric one is called the asymmetric balloon (gennaker) in terms of its structure. These two types of balloons are used in different types of boats with different equipment. Balloon sails, especially with light winds, are very effective at the speed of the boats.

In symmetrical balloon sails, if we cut the balloon from top to bottom, right in half, the remaining two pieces will be symmetrical. The top side of the symmetrical balloon is called a hill, its sides are called suns, and the upper diagonal cheeks are called shoulders. iskotas are ropes that allow us to control the balloon, and the corners where it is connected are called iskota corners. Balloon sails are controlled with the help of iskota ropes connected to the banner and pier of the lower side of the balloon, with the wind and the wind. Symmetrical balloons use a part called send.

Asymmetric balloon sail and its use Asymmetric balloon sail (gennaker) is similar to genoa. The difference from symmetrical balloon sailing is that there is only one corner of the quota. There is a carula (bottom and front) and a top. There is a different shipment than in the symmetrical balloon. Actually, it's called a cane. It extends outwards in front of the boat. The carula side of the balloon sail is attached there. Asymmetric balloons are smaller than symmetrical balloons but larger than genoa. With asymmetric balloons, the full pin pupa is a little slow because the balloon sail can't pick up enough wind by staying under the wind of the sail. Therefore, taking the wind from the stern shoulder pads to make a slightly wider abscess is more suitable for asymmetric balloons.
